Dear Morse Families,
We are excited to share that the work at Grant D. Morse Elementary in connection to the Saugerties Central School District Capital Project will be beginning on May 8th. This work will result in our students having a stage for music and drama performances in future years. In order for this work to remain on schedule, there will be a couple of changes around our dismissal procedures at Grant D. Morse Elementary.
Dismissal procedures will be similar to our drop-off procedures as we will use the parking lot next to the playground. All parents picking up students should enter the driveway closest to the playground in a single car line. At 2:30 PM, we will allow cars to pull into the parking lot (forming a circle around the edge). Students will begin to be dismissed at 2:50 PM to the cars. On days with good weather, we will have students waiting outside by grade level to be called. On days with bad weather, students will be inside and it might take a little longer to transition students. As with current drop off and pick up procedures, remain in your vehicles at all times and wait for Morse staff to direct you to move your vehicle. Buses will also be entering through the same entrance. We will have a staff member directing traffic to ensure that cars and buses safely enter and exit.

With the nice weather upon us, many of our classes are utilizing our outside space during the school day. For student safety, we will not be allowing cars to enter the dismissal parking lot until 2:30PM. We also want to be respectful of our community, therefore I am requesting that families do not arrive at Grant D. Morse prior to 2:30PM. Dismissal will begin at 2:50PM. Our students’ safety is our highest priority and we appreciate your support as we make these adjustments. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school at (845) 247-6960.
I thank you in advance for your patience with the new process. We are excited for our new space!
Sincerely,
Kris Giangreco
